NDW, which will run from October 7-14, 2023, will see a heightened level of activities all aimed at shining an intense spotlight on the relevance of debate for Jamaica’s social, cultural, political and economic development.

NDW 2023 is fully endorsed by the Ministry of Education and Youth
along with numerous tertiary institutions and private sector entities across
Jamaica. NDW is instituted by way of a proclamation from The Office of His Excellency,
the Governor General of Jamaica.
National Debaters’ Week (NDW) 2023 is celebrated
under the theme “Debate HYPE (Harnessing Youthful Potential and Erudition)”.

Who We Are - More Than Debate

Guided by its mission to foster empowerment through debating, public speaking, and critical thinking in Jamaica, The Jamaican Association for Debating and Empowerment (JADE) Limited has achieved significant success and continues to provide invaluable expertise in communication skills development through these four (4) main dimensions:
  • Debating, Public Speaking, and Critical Thinking Training

  • Debate Adjudication Services

  • Planning and Administration of Debate and Public Speaking Competitions

  • Citizen Empowerment and Conflict Resolution
